Leash of Securty

It was so beautiful outside today that I decided to start walking with my puppy Caesar every morning! We went on our first walk today! It was so amazingly breath taking outside! We started our walk off trailing down the lane I live on when I noticed something that Caesar did. As we walked he would go a little ahead of me and then he would slow down, look back at me, and eventually resume his strut. At first I thought nothing of it, but then he continued to do this "ritual" every couple struts. Odd, I thought. We continued our walk down to the river and sat there for a while. There is an old main road in Lowellville (above) that looks so dead but has so much life! People drive these streets not realizing the history that comes with the pavement they travel. Lowellville was birthed with this street. Hmmm...so me and Caesar just sat there captivated by the history of one road. As I was drowning in the history of this beautiful road, I began to think back to Caesars ritual. Who knew a little puppy could teach me so much! So here it goes:

We are all traveling down this road called life. Many of us choose to travel this road led by God and some of us choose to take some time to travel alone. Either way, have you ever noticed how often we "look back" for security? When Caesar kept looking back at me, at first I did not think much of it but then I realized he was looking back at me for security. He wanted to make sure I was still there, walking beside him or behind him. That his MASTER was still holding him attached to a leash he held his security in. We often find ourselves checking back on life making sure we are taking the right steps and going the right direction. But how often do we look back to our MASTER to make sure He is walking with us and holding tight to us? Not often enough, I suppose. We get so caught up in the scenery of the road sometimes we lose the "leash" from our Master. We begin to take advantage of the "leeway" He so graciously offers us and trail off on our own, at our OWN pace. Yet, we always find ourselves checking back at Him!

So here's a thought, why not just walk at HIS pace and in HIS timing in the first place! Then, we wouldn't have to hurt our neck so much always checking back. Just take steps WITH Him, not AHEAD of Him. Walk NEXT to Him, not in FRONT of Him. Let Him LEAD, and you FOLLOW. If we let Him be leader and first, we would prevent so much suffering and pain for ourselves!

Isaiah 42:16
"I will lead the blind by ways they have not known, along unfamiliar paths I will guide them; I will turn the darkness into light before them and make the rough places smooth. These are the things I will do; I will not forsake them."

He promises to never forsake us! He promises to LEAD and GUIDE us! He takes care of our roads and makes them smooth and clear! It's all written! So lets just trust because we all know that we are to trust Him (proverbs 3:5-6) and we all know He knows everything to come! (Jeremiah 29:11)

As the walk continued, Caesar eventually grew more secure and eventually was able to take the lead for a while. Which is exactly what God does with us! Once we get the hang of things and become secure in Him, He lets us take control for a while and He sits back and enjoys the scenery we choose!

So let Him lead you and just enjoy the walk growing in Him until you are completely secure to take the lead for a couple struts! Get out of the "ritual" of turning around and just walk next to Him, it will be less painful! Trust me!

My lovely puppy "Lil Caesar" and I! Such a small puppy with so much to teach!! :)

Puzzle Piece

Hmmm i love discovering Gods sense of humor in life! He loves to show us His funny side! I love that He reveals pieces of our life to us....never the whole thing! It amazes me that He can hold back such an amazing thing! I would never be able to keep something such a secret! But He does it! And the even crazier part is just when we think we have put together our whole puzzle and we can see it all, He says "no way!" and adds more pieces! Everything that happens in our life is a piece to the puzzle, even things we are not proud of or didn't plan to happen! It's all apart of the master puzzle God has designed for us! EACH OF US! We all have our own unique beautiful puzzle designed by the one and only "puzzle master!"

God is really stretching and remodeling the puzzle I once knew. I thought I saw it all and was building it according to His plan. Hmmmm...but little did I know He planned differently! It literally felt like a little child came over and spilled grape juice all over my puzzle and I had to go and search for a new one! My puzzle was ruined and I needed to get a new one! God didn't just shake up the pieces to the puzzle, He gave me a brand new one! I can't wrap my head around His humor! You would think it would be easier to shake up the pieces a bit since I already see parts of the puzzle put together, but nope! God has something else in mind! And all I can do is sit in anticipation as I construct my puzzle, longing for the next piece to be placed , and smiling knowing this is THE puzzle of my life! The destiny God has planned for me is being built this very moment!

Now don't get me wrong! I know that some pieces from the old puzzle are restored into this new one, but in a new way! A better way! A way that I could never imagine! He uses my past to bring life to my present and anticipation to my future!

Philippians 3:12-14 says...
"Not that I have already obtained all this, or have already been made perfect, but I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me. Brothers, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus."

I have one goal in mind: to take hold of what Jesus has for me (my master puzzle) and in order to do so I must forget what is behind me and press on and finish my puzzle! God does use our past to build our puzzles, but because that part of the puzzle is already in place we don't have to sit there and reflect upon it. It's already built and all we have to do is focus on putting together the rest of the puzzle!

Never rush the building process! Let God take you on a journey as you build the puzzle! He will reveal things to you through the construction! And be careful...sometimes two pieces may look the same, but only one fits! Let God lead you in choosing the right one! Never place one into your puzzle until you know it is the right piece!

Philippians 4:6-7
"Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus."

Pray! It's that easy! God will reveal to you which piece fits best! Trust in Him because the piece He picks is far better than the piece we GUESS on! Let Him be the "master puzzle" maker in your life!

So, what puzzle piece has God given you today?! Ask Holy Spirit! He will always give!

Hey! So I really have been waiting to start up a blog but never knew what to base it on! I think I have a pretty good idea now. I recently was called to a waiting period in my life about 3 months ago, and each day it seems like the waiting gets longer, but the longing gets better! God took me out of what I knew as "comfortable" and placed me into a life that was "uncomfortable." I felt unprepared and lost. Everything I once knew and was sure about quickly vanished before my very eyes. Until recently, I went back and forth with emotions...from "I sure do love searching after God" to "seriously, do I have to do this God!" Its crazy how much I have learned about the battlefield of my mind these past couple months!

Letting go was hard. Especially because I had grown accustomed to my life and everything surrounding it. But once I let go, God instantly blessed me with 2 amazing friends that I went into covenant with on New Years Eve! Krislyn and Bethany! I never ever would have guessed that I would be so close with these 2 girls! It still blows my mind to think that the 3 of us never got along! To be perfectly honest, I never would have even looked in Krislyn's direction if it weren't for God! But now, more than ever, I am so honored and blessed to have these 2 in my life! I cant wait to see the destiny God has for us!

I really hope that as time goes on and people read this blog, they will allow me to pour our on them with my words and daily testimony. God has called me into a time of waiting... just me and Him... no agenda and no movement. Just precious moments with Him, where I can fall in love with Him and find rest in His arms.

Let me encourage anyone who is searching for answers in life: don't seek answers from God, just simply seek God. Pursue after His love, His unfailing love. Let Him captivate you and embrace you for a time. Because in these moments of waiting, He will strengthen you as you rest and let Him make the answers come to you. Do you get what I am saying? It's when we rest, God moves.

"If I work God will wait, but if I wait God will work."

I love you all and bless you as you embark on this journey with me! Buon Voyage! Now lets set sail after Jesus! <3
